Shawn Jerome Hitt was born on May 10, 1974, in Monmouth, New Jersey, to Harry Steven Hitt and Vicki Lynn (Siler) Hitt. He passed away after a three year battle with cancer (which he won) on March 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest brother, Yanvari Steven Hitt. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lanette Jean Hitt of Lakewood, Colorado, his daughter Chelsea Hitt of Denver, Colorado, and his son, Harrison David Hitt of Lakewood, Colorado. He is survived by two grandchildren, Grayson Martez Lett, and Serenity Grace Lett. He is also survived by his youngest brother, Seth Jordan Hitt, and his wife, Rachel Luce-Hitt, of Orlando, Florida, and his sister-in-law, Holly Hitt

of Winter Garden, Florida. 

 

Having grown up in a military family, Shawn lived all over the country and the world, including Italy and Germany. He graduated from Key West High School in 1993 and called Key West his home. He loved football and played both in high school as well as when he went to college in Dubuque, lowa. He returned to Key West after his father’s passing.

 

In 2005, Shawn moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, to pursue his education. He graduated from Lee University in 2007. He then went on to Pentecostal Theological Seminary and graduated in 2010 with a

double degree in Counseling and Masters in Divinity. Shawn was pursing his Doctorate degree through Global Awakening

Theological Seminary in Mechanicsburg, PA. He pastored in Florida, Michigan, and Georgia. At the time of his passing, he was pastor at Purpose Church in Sheridan, Colorado.

 

Celebration of Life will will be at Purpose Church on March 28th at

10:30am MT at 4390 S. Lowell Blvd in Sheridan, Colorado. Correspondence can be sent at any time to the church. However,

flowers should be delivered on Thursday morning before services.
